A perfect balance of work and relaxation proved a hit at the Scottish Criminal Bar Association’s winter conference.

Contributions were made by the Dean of Faculty, Gordon Jackson, QC, and the Hon Lord Matthews, as well as by English silk, Kerim Fuad, QC, Head of Church Court Chambers and Leader-Elect of the South Eastern Circuit, who spoke on intermediaries, and Dr Rhonda Wheate of Strathclyde University’s Law School, whose talk centred on juries.

The event was held at the Ballathie Country House Hotel, Perthshire.

Thomas Ross, SCBA President, said: “Yet another highly successful conference, expertly organised by our wonderful CPD Convenor, Wendy Hay. The talks were all very thought-provoking, but the real joy was watching our members wind down over dinner on the Friday evening.

“Kerim Fuad and his colleague, Michael Polak, were fantastic company and both seemed to enjoy the event as much as we did.”
