Admitted to practice in 1987 Mr Ferguson has extensive experience in criminal proceedings including appellate proceedings.

He is presently an ad hoc AD and has been a Member of the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission since 2011. He also has considerable experience of personal injuries litigation including medical negligence,  and judicial review actions including human rights issues. He has published extensively on academic and practical areas of criminal law, procedure and evidence including human rights questions.
