EAST, west, Dundee’s best for Marcus McKay, QC, and he is looking to help make it a real city of discovery for students.

Mr McKay, a graduate of the University of Dundee, is returning to campus as a trustee of Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA).

“My practice as a planning Silk takes me all over Scotland, but at heart I’m a proud Dundonian,” he said.

“The success of the University of Dundee and DUSA has played a huge part in turning around the city’s fortunes. DUSA is officially the best student union in Scotland and that takes a lot of hard work on the part of the Student Executive, guided by the charitable trustees who sit on the Management Board.

“There is so much going on at DUSA – not just the social scene, but also really important things like liaising with the University on academic matters, ensuring student welfare, fundraising, and generally providing support and advice on every aspect of student life.

“When the opportunity came up to join the Board, I jumped at it."
