Biography

Andrew is an experienced criminal defence advocate who appears regularly in solemn proceedings throughout Scotland. He has a particular interest in matters involving mental health, neurodiversity and vulnerable witnesses, and is committed to responding to instructions promptly and accurately.

Alongside his core criminal practice, Andrew has substantial experience in human rights, extradition, proceeds of crime, and appellate advocacy, including three appearances before the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.

He also undertakes employment and discrimination work, and is developing a practice in family and child law, particularly where it intersects with criminal proceedings.

In addition to his practice at the Bar, Andrew has taught law at universities and currently serves on the board of a national charity.

Instructions are welcomed through Andrew’s clerks at Optimum, or direct by telephone or email.
