Free Legal Services Unit
As part of a commitment to promote access to justice, the Faculty can arrange for advice and representation to be provided by advocates free of charge.
This pro bono service has been a feature of the Faculty down the centuries and is now provided by volunteer advocates through the Faculty’s Free Legal Services Unit. It should be understood from the outset, however, that not all requests for assistance can be met by the Unit - criteria must be met before a case is accepted.
When we are able to help, the aim in every case is for the advice/representation to be of the same quality as given by advocates to paying clients.
