Biography

David called to the Bar in 2022, following a number of years as a solicitor in the public sector.

He practiced primarily in Employment law, and has appeared in Employment Tribunals throughout Scotland. He frequently advised on complex employment disputes and issues relating to regulated professionals. He developed particular expertise in discrimination proceedings under the Equality Act 2010.

David has also dealt with professional liability litigation, and has experience in medical negligence cases. He also regularly dealt with cases on behalf of public sector clients in the Court of Session, and made appearances in Sheriff Courts across Scotland.

David has a particular interest in public law, judicial review, and human rights and gained significant experience in these areas during devilling. He was appointed as Junior Standing Junior Counsel to the Office of the Advocate General in 2022, and has appeared in the First Tier Tribunal in this capacity.
