Biography

David represents clients in all areas of commercial disputes, providing specialist advice and appearing in the Court of Session and Sheriff Courts, at arbitration and in the Lands Tribunal.

Prior to calling to the bar, David practised for several years as a solicitor in the top-ranked commercial litigation team at McGrigors.

In addition to expertise in general contractual matters, David has significant experience in property litigation (including landlord & tenant, servitudes/rights of access, land reform and community right to buy), banking and credit, PFI and procurement disputes. David has assisted clients in a number of other specialist areas including: construction, corporate governance, insolvency, insurance, judicial review, land contamination, licensing, partnership, personal injury, planning, product liability, professional negligence, public law, succession, tax and trusts. He has advised clients from specialist sectors including the financial services, energy, infrastructure, construction and aviation industries.

David is Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).
