Biography
Jamie called to the Bar in 2025 as a Lord Hope Scholar.
Prior to devilling Jamie trained as a solicitor at a leading international litigation firm, where he gained experience of a wide range of professional negligence and personal injury matters. He frequently conducted proofs in the sheriff courts and helped respond to a government consultation on behalf of an insurer body.
During devilling Jamie further developed his knowledge of public, commercial and property law. He was involved in several large-scale and high-profile Court of Session cases, including group proceedings, while also cultivating a particular interest in criminal appeals and extradition.
Prior to his legal career Jamie spent several years working in financial media. His subsequent studies at the University of Edinburgh saw him win numerous prizes and begin his ongoing role as a tutor in both constitutional and Roman law.
