Biography
Mairi-Clare called to the Bar in 2024.
Prior to calling, Mairi-Clare worked as a Procurator Fiscal Depute within the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service for five years following the completion of her traineeship there. She latterly held the position of a Senior Procurator Fiscal Depute, a role that included the oversight and prosecution of a wide range of complex cases such as sexual offences involving multiple complainers and historic offending.
Mairi-Clare has extensive court experience having prosecuted at both solemn and summary level. She has dealt with many cases that involved vulnerable witnesses and expert witnesses.
During devilling, Mairi-Clare has built on her criminal knowledge including criminal appeals which is an area that she has a keen interest in. She has also gained experience in professional negligence, public law and immigration.
