Biography

Prior to studying law, Michael graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2011 with a BA in politics.

He then undertook his LLB and Diploma in Legal Practice, again at the University of Strathclyde. Thereafter, Michael trained as a solicitor with MacRoberts before pursuing a career as an advocate.
During his time at MacRoberts, Michael gained experience in a wide range of litigation in both the Court of Session and Sheriff Court, including commercial, insolvency, and construction litigation. He built upon this experience during his period of devilling, undertaking a wide variety of work including commercial contracts, public procurement, professional negligence, immigration, employment, and proceeds of crime.

Michael has a keen interest in the history of Scots law and has been a member of the Stair Society for several years.
