Biography

Nicola was admitted as a solicitor in 2005. She was a Procurator Fiscal Depute and Senior Procurator Fiscal Depute for eleven years, dealing with a wide range of solemn and summary cases and appeals. She has experience of serious and complex cases and of working with vulnerable witnesses. Nicola appeared in many fatal accident inquiries when she worked for the Scottish Fatalities Investigation Unit.

Nicola was Clerk to the Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal for eight years, advising the Tribunal on law and procedure. She has knowledge of the law relating to professional discipline and regulation as well as the procedure of professional disciplinary tribunals.

While devilling, Nicola gained experience of criminal defence work and the law of succession.
