Biography

Victoria’s principal areas of practice are in professional liability and discipline, clinical negligence, inquiries, public law, and commercial disputes.

Victoria is ranked by Chambers for Clinical Negligence in Scotland. She is instructed regularly in complex, high value, clinical negligence claims both in her own right, and to act as junior counsel to senior counsel. Victoria also represents medical professionals at Fatal Accident Inquiries.

In 2024, Victoria was appointed as Standing Junior Counsel to the Scottish Government. Recently, she acted as junior counsel for the Scottish Ministers in a high-profile multi-million pound Commercial Court action.

Victoria represents the Scottish Prison Service on a regular basis. She has also acted on behalf of the Chief Constable of Police Scotland in a number of high profile matters, involving complex and novel legal issues relating to malicious prosecution, human trafficking legislation, and human rights.

Between 2020 and 2023, Victoria was instructed as junior counsel to the Scottish Hospitals Inquiry.
