Summary sheriff appointments

 

Two members of Faculty are among those appointed Scotland’s first summary sheriffs, the new judicial office created under the Courts Reform (Scotland) Act 2014.

Margaret Hodge has been appointed for Grampian, Highland and Islands based at Aberdeen, while Allan McKay will sit in South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway based at Hamilton.

In total, 12 summary sheriffs will take up office in April and May, and two current stipendiary magistrates will become summary sheriffs.
