QC joins board of National Library of Scotland

 

A senior member of Faculty has been appointed to the board of the National Library of Scotland.

Ruth Crawford, QC, will hold the post for four years, in recognition of the close links between the Library and the Faculty.

Under the National Library of Scotland Act 2012, one of the members of the board is appointed by Scottish Ministers from nominations submitted by the Dean of Faculty.

Ms Crawford was selected by Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism and External Affairs from the nominations presented to her. The announcement is here

The National Library of Scotland was established in 1925 after the Faculty gifted to the nation 750,000 non-legal books, pamphlets, maps and sheet music which had been part of the collection of the Advocates Library.
