Delight as book sale raises £301

MEMBERS of Faculty and staff have raised £301 at a book sale in aid of the Scottish Book Trust.
The sale was organised by Jane Condie, of the Advocates Library, as part of Book Week Scotland. Scores of paperbacks and hardbacks were donated, and found their way to new owners for a bargain price.
Jane said: “Many thanks to staff and members. I’m very pleased with the amount we managed to raise. It’s surprisingly tiring putting on a book sale… but it’s a lot of fun.”
Marc Lambert, CEO of Scottish Book Trust, said: “We are delighted that the Faculty has chosen to support Scottish Book Trust through fundraising efforts. As a charity, we rely on donations and funding to deliver our programmes so every pound raised helps us reach more people.
“Just £5 could send a box of new books to a school library to give them a more inspiring collection for children, and £50 could buy a Bookbug Session resource kit to support even more story, song and rhyme sessions for families in communities across the country.
“Many adults don’t have the reading skills or confidence that could help them with their work and family life.
“This is where people like Jane come in. With their support, we can turn Scotland into a nation of readers and help people develop and enjoy this key life skill.”
