Employment judges to speak at ELG conference

TWO judges are to be the guest speakers at this year’s conference by the Faculty’s Employment Law Group (ELG).

Lady Wise will give introductory remarks about her time as Judge of the Employment Appeal Tribunal, while Judge Eady, QC, Senior Circuit Judge, EAT, will focus in her talk on “Recent developments in unfair dismissal”.

The programme for the all-day conference also features the Faculty’s Ken McGuire (Industrial action: new cases and recent developments), Julius Komorowski (Powers of enforcement in the Employment Tribunal), David Hay (Discrimination law update) and Brian Napier, QC (Sleeping and working time).

Alice Stobart, Chair of the Conference, said: “We are very pleased that both Judge Eady and Lady Wise have agreed to speak at the ELG Conference. We have a very interesting line-up this year and I look forward to hearing from all the speakers.”

The conference is on Thursday, 15 November, in the Faculty’s Mackenzie Building.
