NEW rules and forms for taking the views of children in family and civil partnership actions were explored at a special seminar by the Advocates’ Family Law Association (AFLA).

The rules come into effect on 24 June, and there will also be new associated forms in the Court of Session and the Sheriff Court.

AFLA’s seminar included talks by Lord Brailsford, Lynda Brabender, QC, and Ruth Innes, QC.

“The overhaul of the forms used for taking the views of children in family actions is a long-awaited and important development. The seminar addressed the consequent changes in procedure and practice,” said Ruth Innes, acting Chair of AFLA.
