Lady Haldane to present keynote at employment law conference

24 Sep

THE Hon. Lady Haldane will deliver the keynote speech at a half-day conference organised by the Faculty of Advocates Employment Law Group next week.

The Employment Law Group is the centre for excellence for counsel providing advice and representation in all areas of employment and discrimination law. The group encourages the sharing of knowledge and experience as a key means of maintaining the quality of justice in this critical area.

The event will be chaired by Calum MacNeill KC, who also chairs the Employment Law Group. “I am very much looking forward to welcoming employment lawyers from across Scotland for this important event. All will be interested to hear Lady Haldane give a view from the EAT and from our members on such current topics of interest,” said Mr MacNeill.

David Hay KC will present a Case Law Update, David James will discuss whistleblowing, and Michael Briggs will deliver a talk entitled ‘Equal Pay Update: What Next for the Northgate Hypothetical?’.

The event will be held in at the Mackenzie Building in Edinburgh on Thursday 3 October from 2.30pm to 5pm.

Tickets are £25 per person with refreshments and canapes on offer to attendees.

This conference attracts 2.5 hours Substantive Law CPD under Faculty's CPD Programme.
