Tumbling Lassie sparkles, raising over £70,000 for SOHTIS and IJM

THE Tumbling Lassie Appeal, founded by members of the Faculty of Advocates in 2015, has raised over £70,000 this year as it celebrated its 10^th anniversary during 2025.

The Tumbling Lassie “Diamond Ball” was held at Prestonfield Stables on Saturday 8 November 2025. The evening featured a performance of the new Tumbling Lassie musical, from Ayrshire’s Theatre Alliance group, as well as a painting created live on stage, and the grand reveal of which lucky guest had a mystery Rox in a Box diamond necklace.

£43,000 was raised and split equally between the Tumbling Lassie campaign’s two nominated charities, International Justice Mission and SOHTIS (Survivors of Human Trafficking in Scotland).

The Tumbling Lassie’s donation was then matched by the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge 2025, nearly doubling the funds raised, to over £70,000.

“Thank you to everyone who made the evening possible and of course our guests, donors and sponsors, whose generosity enables us to give life-changing donations to our charities,” said the Chair of the Tumbling Lassie Committee, Sheriff Maryam Labaki.

Dean of the Faculty of Advocates Roddy Dunlop KC said: “Faculty is extremely grateful to Sheriff Labaki and the others involved in the Tumbling Lassie for their hard work over the past year.

“A significant amount of money has been raised for these worthy causes, and it is remarkable how the campaign has grown from humbling beginnings to a major contributor of funds to tackle modern slavery and trafficking. The Scots of Harden, and the Lassie herself, would be very proud to see their legacy advanced in this manner.”
