The Faculty of Advocates recently welcomed 29 new members at calling ceremonies held in Edinburgh. The new advocates were admitted as members of the Faculty by the Dean of Faculty, Roddy Dunlop KC, and admitted to the public office of advocate by Lady Tait, Lord Braid, Lord Cubie and Lord Harrower.
Members of the public are being invited to share their views on how complaints about the conduct of Advocates in Scotland are handled, as part of a new public consultation launched by the Faculty of Advocates.
It is with great sadness that Faculty learnt of the passing of Lord MacKay of Clashfern, one of its most distinguished members and a towering figure in the law of Scotland and the United Kingdom.
