Biography

Gavin is a dual-qualified English barrister and Scottish advocate, holding chambers in London with Five Paper and in Edinburgh with Arnot Manderson. His practice encompasses international commercial litigation, sports and public law.

Gavin’s commercial practice has a focus on international commercial arbitration, cross border litigation and related court applications. He advises international corporations and often acts as part of large multi-jurisdictional legal teams as led or sole counsel in complex commercial disputes.

As part of his public law practice Gavin acts both for and against the Government on both sides of the border and has a particular interest in judicial reviews involving immigration, constitutional and devolution issues.

Gavin also has a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution.  He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), and CEDR Mediator and regularly sits as an arbitrator, in both commercial and sporting disputes.
