Biography

Susan Duff is an advocate with very considerable experience in the field of criminal defence work.

She defends all types of criminal allegations, most frequently in the High Court of Justiciary.
She specialises in defending regulatory prosecutions and associated proceedings in the areas of Health and Safety, Road Traffic, Food Safety and Hygiene, Environmental and Financial offences.
She is often contacted on behalf of clients at an early stage in proceedings to provide advice on managing the allegation and to advise on preparation of the defence case.
She is very experienced at plea negotiation.
In Fatal Accident Inquiries, she is instructed for a variety of different types of clients from the family of the deceased to employers and other interested entities.
She defends clients in respect of improvement and prohibition proceedings in the Sheriff Court and conducts appeals against enforcement action.
She advises clients on compliance with the regulatory regimes
