Stephen O’Rourke appointed to Scottish Sentencing Council

Membership of the Scottish Sentencing Council has been announced, as the new body was officially established.

The Council will be responsible for preparing guidelines to help ensure a consistent approach to sentencing throughout Scotland, and work to raise public awareness and understanding of sentencing practice.

Lord Carloway, the Lord Justice Clerk, chairs the Council, and the Advocate Member is Stephen O’Rourke.
